back at my desk today. the rain has eased off a little, still coming down but not the kind that stops trains. small mercy.

spent the morning finishing that validation bug. turned out the actual fix was three lines, the rest of yesterday was just me finding where those three lines needed to go. put it up for review and my manager looked at it in the afternoon, said it looked fine, asked one small question about an edge case which i hadn't thought of. fixed that too. she said good, merge it. i sat there for a second after she left not knowing what to do with the feeling. it isn't much, one small ticket, but it was mine start to finish.

priya remembered what she said and took me to the tiffin place near the office at lunch, some home style thali counter behind the building i hadn't noticed. it wasn't dal rice for once. she introduced me to two people from another team whose names i already forgot. i didn't say much, just listened, but it felt less like sitting alone.

train back was crowded as usual, everyone pushed against everyone else, nobody minding it the way delhi people would. i've stopped minding it too, mostly.

neha was cooking when i got in, asked how the tiffin place was, i told her, she said she'd been meaning to try it for months and never had. we ate together at the little table, didn't talk about much, just work and the weather and her manager being annoying.

small day. but i fixed something today and someone told me it was good. i'll take that.
